Monique van Doorne

Monique van Doorne is an independent architect and interior architect. Registered in the National Architects Register. Since 1990 she has been designing for companies and private individuals.

Monique designs bank branches and offices for the business market. In her designs she responds to developments such as The New Way of Working, customer experience, sustainability and Turn2. At the end of 2012, Monique’s design for Rabobank Zaandam was nominated for the Arc12 interior award by De Architect magazine.

Monique works from the philosophy that the extra floor in usage wishes during the design phase will pay double reconsideration later on; both in an appropriate design where people feel comfortable and in lower realization costs. This is particularly the case for private homes, where Monique focuses on the renovation and interior design of villas and luxury apartments.

Depending on the nature and scope of the project, Monique van Doorne works either independently or in teams. Her role ranges from leading architect to interior architect. Monique engages professionals for specific projects to achieve the best results.

For the greater part of her childhood, Monique spent in Canada where the family business realized construction projects in the outlying areas. In this way she developed her passion for design and nature at a young age. This became the motive for her study Architectural Design & Interior at the Academy of Visual Arts in Breda. As a second study she completed the training as an architect at the Academy for Architecture in Rotterdam.

Monique draws its inspiration from the in-depth discussions with future users, study trips, trade fairs, city trips and last but not least; nature.

Michelle Melchers

Michelle is one of the professionals who is regularly engaged at Van Doorne Architects. She has had a passion for creativity from a young age, which led her to start taking courses in art, styling, and design early on. During her studies at the Hout- en Meubileringscollege and the Academie Artemis, she was able to further develop and refine these creative skills. This combination of education and passion has been successfully applied in various roles and projects, where she gained valuable practical experience both during and after her studies. Through this, she has learned how to translate clients’ wishes into beautiful and functional interior projects in diverse environments.

She believes it is important to listen closely to what the client wants and incorporate that into a design that is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. Clients know they can rely on her because she has an eye for detail and always keeps her promises. Michelle enjoys working on projects where she can express her creativity and continues to develop herself. For her, the main goal is always that the final result truly adds value for the client.
